This is about one third of the cards my mom has spread around her dining room. They are all filled with messages of love and support. She likes to read through them often.

She also constantly has fresh flowers being brought over by friends and family. She loves tulips.

Oh spring and baseball season! How I missed you! We went to the day after the opening day for the Rockies... and they played the Phillies... and they lost. But, maybe they'll have a good season this year? Maybe?

Rosemary and... Procrastination

I’m supposed to be cleaning my house getting ready for a family dinner tomorrow night.. so instead I’m blogging. Wonder what’s wrong with me.. I just can’t get motivated, guess I really don’t want to be doing this dinner. Ahh well…. Everything will get done.. eventually!

I thought I’d post on some of the finer uses of Rosemary for you this morning.. I’m considering using some myself to get into action before I’m up all night preparing for tomorrow! Rosemary is associated with improving and stimulating the mind. It’s an excellent tonic if you’re feeling physically, mentally and/or emotionally worn out. Rosemary is also useful as an antiseptic and antibacterial-it can be burned in rooms where people are, or have been, ill. Rosemary stimulates the adrenal glands and makes a good remedy for long-term depression and chronic illness by helping increase your energy levels.

Some of the best ways to use Essential Oils are to open the bottle and inhale the scent, you can also place a drop or two on a tissue or cotton pad and keep it with you to inhale throughout the day. You may want to add a few drops to your favorite oil burner, add to your massage or bath oil.

Enjoy!

A few times now I have been walking to or from work, and towering over the top of one of the piers I will see a HUGE ship. Once it was a cruise ship, but I was late to work and didn't have time to take a picture. But this gal was even bigger.

T and I were walking home, bellies full of noodles from Bones (short review: YUM!), and I liked this alley.

I'm house sitting for a professor. Their house is amazing! Look forward to non-ranch pictures in the near future.

There are these plaques all down the Embarcadero at the Muni stops. This is one of the two at my stop near work. It was raining and I thought the poem fit the mood of San Francisco today.

Riding along on Hwy 93 between Denver and Boulder. This picture doesn't do it any justice, but the sky was wonderful this evening. Cloudy but sun-highlighted.

Rock of Love Bus...

I know, I know.. it's sad. But, my guilty indulgence is watching Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michael's... the finale is this Sunday Night! Ya!!

I'm seriously considering buying
Rock of Love: Season 1 and Rock of Love Season 2. Amazon makes it really easy since you can buy them on demand.. either the whole season or each episode one by one!

I just read on Yahoo TV that they are considering cancelling Bret's show... so I hope he finds love this time!!!

This is Zippy, my professor's greyhound. I'll be taking him on lots of walk soon! It's terrible but when I look at greyhounds, all I can think of is The Simpsons featuring Mr. Burns and clothing made from dogs.

Speaking of bottle caps, my parents brought these home from New Zealand. Aren't they adorable? I'm planning on making them into earrings.

So you can't really see it in this picture (aside from the drops on the camera lens) but it was a sunny day, and all of a sudden it started raining, and pretty hard too! At the very least you get a shot of a pretty cable car.

I was out cleaning the chicken coop and when I saw this reflection, I ran into the house to get my camera.

The MUNI tracks near my house. Supposedly the train could switch directions here, but I've never seen it happen and this has been my MUNI stop for over 10 years. And those are California poppies between the tracks, but they are closed for the evening.

They're still trying to live! I don't know what kind of flower these are, but I am certain they belong to the lily family. Are they crocus? They look too bunched to be crocus. Thoughts?

Last summer I'd have visions of making a bench for the mud room that doubles as a recycling sorting bin. I was going to use bottle caps to decorate it. Perhaps this summer I'll actually get it done.

This morning D made breakfast, and we only had two eggs left. But lo and behold, when he cracked open the second egg, there were two yokes! Thank you chicken, for providing us with a little more protein this morning.
